I have not tested this extensively, but the Chinese translations that you are supposed to show to anyone who doesn't speak English for directions only seem to make matters worse.
For instance, Luen Wo market is translated on page 154 as t|About the Author||Jules Brown first visited Hong Kong in 1989. He has also written and researched Rough Guides to Scandinavia, Barcelona, Washington DC and England.
